Andrew Cartwright Resigns From BIHL Board

Andrew Cartwright  has resigned from his position on independent non-executive director from the Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited (BIHL) Board of Directors. The resignation is effective of 8 April 2025.

Cartwright joined the BIHL board in 2019 and was re-elected to the board position in BIHL's June 2024 AGM. His reasons for departure are unclear.

"The Board wishes to thank Mr. Cartwright for his invaluable contribution to the BIHL Group and wishes him well in his future endeavors," read a brief statement from BIHL.

Three weeks ago, BIHL's former Group CFO Kudakwashe Mukushi also abruptly resigned from his position and was replaced by Frank Dalo.

In its latest annual results, BIHL registered a loss P126 million, a turnaround from a profit of P611 million last year. The company blamed blaming several factors including an impairment of the Letshego stake by P553 million.
