After the abrupt exit of ex-CFO Kudakwashe Mukushi last week, BIHL has roped in Frank Dalo as new CFO. Dalo was previously BIHL's Chief Group Actuary.
Dalo's appointment is effective from 21 March 2025.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (UK), with a Master of Science in Actuarial Science and a Bachelor’s Degree double major in Physics and Mathematics. He has held various senior positions in the insurance and financial services industries and his extensive experience in risk management, financial forecasting, and strategic planning.
Some of his previous stints in his 19 years of experience include at Delloite UK, HSBC, and Botswana Life.
"Mr. Dalo’s actuarial background provides him with a deep understanding of financial risks and mitigation strategies, essential for overseeing the company's financial health. His proficiency in data analysis and forecasting will enhance the company's ability to project future financial performance and make informed decisions," BIHL said.
"Additionally, Mr. Dalo’s experience in preparing financial budgets, financial modeling, as well as developing and implementing strategic initiatives aligns with the company's goals for growth and sustainability. His knowledge of industry regulations and standards will ensure that BIHL Group continues to adhere to the evolving financial laws. "
