Botswana Savings Bank has appointed Grant Thornton as the bank's new external auditors with effect with 6 February. Grant Thornton replaces Deloitte.
As external auditors, Grant Thornton will be responsible for conducting the independent audit of the bank's financial statements, including compliance with applicable financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
"The board is confident that Grant Thornton possesses the necessary expertise and industry experience to provide independent assurance on the Bank's financial affairs," Botswana Savings Bank said.
Botswana Savings Bank, which is planning to delist from the Botswana Stock Exchange and go private, saw a remarkable 1520% growth in its profit after tax for the 6 months ended 30 September 2024. The bank grew profits from P3 million in the same period in 2023 to P53 million in 2024.
