Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) has appointed former Letshego Group CEO Aupa Monyatsi as its new CEO. Monyatsi replaces Thapelo Tsheole, who resigned last year.
A seasoned executive, Monyatsi was at the helm of Letshego for two and a half years before his exit. BSE is looking to leverage Monyatsi's experience leading pan-African Letshego to transform Botswana's financial markets into a "premier capital-raising hub in Africa."
"Aupa is the right leader for the BSE at this transformative time. With his strong balance of financial and technical expertise coupled with his proven track record in leadership, he is uniquely positioned to guide the BSE to the next level of growth," said BSE board chair Neo Mooki.
For his part, Monyatsi said his vision was to strengthen the BSE. as a catalyst for economic transformation.
"Together with our stakeholders, we will unlock Botswana's potential as a leader in Africa's capital markets and deliver long-term value for issuers, investors and the nation as a whole," Monyatsi said.
