BBS Bank has appointed Elly Odhong as Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective 06th January 2025.
Formerly Head of Retail Banking at Kenya-based Commercial International Bank, Odhong brings over a 30-years of experience in retail banking, business banking, distribution, product development, cards management, sales and strategy.
He has held senior leadership positions in Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana and South Sudan. Elly holds a Master of Arts (MA) Leading Innovation and Change Management from York St John University, North Yorkshire. He is also a member of Associate Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB).

BBS Bank, which is Botswana's first Indigenous bank and received its commercial bank license in 2022, has been ramping up its offering to compete in Botswana's tough banking sector. It will be hoping Odhong can help propel it past the competition.
The bank, listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange, recently recorded a profit of P5.6 million, its first since 2018.
