OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Search Engine To Compete With Google Search

ChatGPT can now search the web just like Google. The OpenAI chatbot will use a natural language interface to provide search results on sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more.

Search will be available at chatgpt.com and on desktop and mobile apps. All ChatGPT Plus and Team users and SearchGPT waitlist users will have access on Thursday, November 31. Enterprise and Edu users will get access in the next few weeks.

Free users will get the functionality "over the coming months", according to OpenAI.

The launch of the ChatGPT search engine comes as competition for generative AI products has been heating up. A fortnight ago, Google rolled out its Gemini chatbot on Google Search, allowing users to quickly get AI-generated responses to their search engine queries.
