inDrive is now available in Francistown, becoming the first ride-hailing app to be available in Botswana's second city.
Initially launched in Botswana in 2019, inDrive works like more popular apps like Uber and Bolt but allows users to negotiate prices with drivers instead.
In February, inDrive finally introduced a 10% commission charge for drivers in Botswana, five years after launching. Drivers of the service have recently faced numerous misconduct allegations, including customer harassment and poor service.
The service has also faced backlash from taxi operators who accuse inDrive drivers of taking away their business and also operating without requisite licenses.
With the introduction of inDrive in Francistown, riders will be hoping these issues can be addressed so they can make the most of the convenience of ride-hailing service.
