Standard Chartered has announced the launch of its Women in Tech (WiT) Accelerator Programme in Botswana to address gender disparity in the technology sector and leveraging technology to address pressing social challenges.
The WiT Accelerator Programme is integral to the Bank’s Futuremakers initiative, a global effort dedicated to combating inequality and promoting economic inclusion. Partnering with the Dream Factory Foundation, Standard Chartered aims to support women entrepreneurs in Botswana who are at the forefront of developing innovative, tech-enabled solutions, or those looking to enhance their technology capabilities and accelerate their business growth.
Empowering Women Entrepreneurs
The programme aims to strengthen female-owned enterprises and close the financial access gap for innovative or tech-enabled women-led small and growing businesses. These businesses have the potential to significantly improve the livelihoods of low-income and rural communities while making a broader social impact.
