The Botswana Innovation Fund has issued a call for applications for innovative ideas by Batswana.
Ideas should meet the following criteria:
New Ideas: Ideas that are fresh and unique.
Community Benefit: Ideas that can make a big positive difference in communities.
Market Potential: Ideas that can become products or services people will want to buy.
WHY JOIN?
If you're selected, you'll get to join an Ideation Workshop. Here, experts will help you develop your idea into a proof of concept. What this means is that by the time you complete the workshop, you will have:
1) Further refined your idea to a point where you can convincingly demonstrate that the solution is feasible and has market potential
2) Established relationships and a network to help you as you further advance your idea
3) Be better positioned to apply for seed funding through the Botswana Innovation Fund to further develop your innovation.
(Note: Participation in the ideation workshop does not guarantee funding. However, it provides a robust platform to advance your idea to a point where it has increased potential to secure funding through BIF)
WHO CAN APPLY?
Anyone in Botswana, whether you're an individual or a registered company.
IDEATION CALL PROCESS:
Submit Your Idea: Tell us about your idea and explain how it's new, helpful to the community, and could be sold as a product or service.
Screening: Our team will look at all the ideas and select the best ones.
Workshop Invitation: If your idea is chosen, we'll invite you to participate in our workshop.

Opening: 9th August 2024
Closing: 6th September 2024
