Choppies is currently in talks to sell 100% of Mediland Healthcare Distributors, the company told shareholders.
Mediland is engaged in the distribution of diagnostic medical equipment and consumables, as well as the distribution of pharmaceutical products.
"The [Possible Sale], which is subject to certain conditions, is aligned to the strategic intent of Choppies to focus on retail," the company said.
Additionally, Choppies said the transaction has been approved by Botswana's competition regulator the Consumer and Competition Authority.
Choppies acquired a 76% controlling stake in Mediland's parent company Kamoso Africa in April 2023.
