How To Apply For Chema-Chema Online (With Screenshots)

After being offline for a few weeks, the Chema-Chema online registration platform is now back online. In this edition of Decoder, we look at how to use the portal to submit your application.

Prerequisites

Before proceeding with the online registration, please make sure you have the following documents

1. Your omang

2. A complete affidavit from kgosi if your business is not registered with CIPA

Creating An Account 

To start the registration process, you need to create an account. Please visit the https://smeregistration.lea.co.bw/register to create your account. Enter all the necessary information as required.


After completing the registration form, you will be directed to another form which will require more details about the applicant. This information includes your ID number, phone number, and password for your account. Please complete as required and proceed to register your account.



After submitting the form, you will be sent a 4-digit One Time Pin (OTP) on your phone number. Please fill in the OTP and proceed.



Registering for Chema-Chema


After creating your account, you will be directed to a portal to further update your profile and register your business.


Please note that you cannot proceed to business registration without completing your profile so please complete the profile as per instructions.



After updating your profile, please proceed to now register your business by clicking on "New Business" under the "My Businesses" option. You can also register an existing business



Complete all the information as required and submit the form.



After submission, you will receive an SMS notification from LEA informing you that your application has been received and is under review.
