Amapiano Hit "Ka Valungu" Removed From Streaming Platforms For Copyright Infringement

Amapiano hit song "Ka Valungu" by South African artist Tebogo The DJ and DJ Nomza The King has been removed off digital streaming providers (DSPs) because of alleged copyright infringement.

The song, released a week ago and which has been climbing off the streaming charts and was on track to dethrone "Mnike", another Amapiano hit, samples "African Vibe Part 2", an 80s Shangaan Disco song by Peter Teanet.

When it was removed, there was only a gap of 10,9K streams between "Mnike" and "Ka  Valungu" which was the lowest daily gap and the closest a number Song has ever had in challenging "Mnike" 76-day reign at number 1 on the SA Spotify Daily Top 100 chart.

Neither party has officially confirmed the reason for the song's removal from streaming platforms.
