BotswanaPost has signed a cooperation agreement with European blockchain development company, Stampsdaq Estonia OU, to launch the process of transformation of the country’s postage stamp collection, as well as issue new stamps using the NFT technology on stampsdaq.com.
Through the partnership, BotswanaPost aims to tokenize into NFT format its entire historic philatelic collection as well as issue new NFT stamps in the near future.
Stampsdaq is an NFT stamps platform which implements the model of a One-Stop-Shop solution for starting and developing NFT business for a postal operator and the model “Collect with Benefits” for the global collector community.
In line with its digital transformation and innovation strategy, BotswanaPost joins La Poste de Côte d'Ivoire whose collection started trading February 1st and Bhutan Post, whose collection is currently selling NFTs on the platform. The collections can be found on this marketplace here.
Speaking on the partnership, BotswanaPost CEO Cornelius Ramatlhakwane stated that the organization firmly believse in blockchain solutions for global philately, and in particular for BotswanaPost.
"With NFT stamps, we aim to create a whole new level of collection experience for all collectors around the world, and Stampsdaq’s business model suits our needs perfectly,” Ramatlhakwane added.
For Stampsdaq, CEO Andrii Shapovalov stated that the company develops and implements different value adding benefits to make the life of NFT stamps collectors much more entertaining and rewarding.

Following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between PAPU, of which BotswanaPost is a member, and Stampsdaq in July 2022, the 45-member countries of the Union have given a mandate to Stampsdaq to support them in the African Philatelic Renaissance movement to revive the interest of the greater public to stamps collecting.
