Dare To Dream, a local social enterprise dedicated to the advancement of youth, women and girls in STEAME as well as Aviation and Aerospace, this Saturday held a "Battle of The Smartest Coders" event at the Botswana Digital & Innovation Hub.
The competition challenged young people, divided into 11 teams, to solve the country's most pressing problems from gender based violence to climate change, corruption as well as youth unemployment through the use of technology.
The event was attended by, among others, the CEO of Kwa Nokeng Oil Mr Mahube Mpugwa, CEO of Rokoro Khakhas, Dr Masheto, Acting Communications and Marketing Manager of BOFINET Dineo Rowland, as well as Katlego Gaborone,Communications and Marketing Manager of Choppies Botswana
The Battle comprised of 11 teams who competed in 3 phases being a Research Project, how to solve the problem by Coding and Core Values(Team work, collaboration, presentation skills)
Team Liquid Intelligent Technologies scooped first position, followed by Team Choppies Botswana in position 2 and Team Dare To Dream in position 3.
